Faculty of Architecture

HKU’s Faculty of Architecture (FoA) offers a comprehensive range of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes across the professional and academic research fields of the built environment, through its Department of Architecture, Department of Real Estate and Construction, Department of Urban Planning and Design, and Division of Landscape Architecture.

Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts, as an internationally renowned and leading humanities faculty, strives to attract and nurture outstanding scholars and students from around the world through excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, research and knowledge exchange.  As one of the flagship faculties of the University founded in 1912 when the University opened, the Faculty of Arts contributes to the advancement of knowledge about the arts and to the betterment of society.  It nurtures leaders who are committed to making significant contributions to the development of Hong Kong, China, the region and the world at large. 

HKU Business School (Faculty of Business and Economics)

Established in 2001, HKU Business School is the youngest and most dynamic member of The University of Hong Kong (HKU). The School strives to nurture first-class business leaders and foster academic and relevant research to serve the needs of Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world in the new Asia-led economy. As a top international business school in Asia, the School engages leading scholars from all corners of the globe and they instil in students global knowledge with an Asian perspective. The School attracts top students from Hong Kong and beyond, recording the highest proportion of non-local undergraduate students amongst all Faculties at HKU.

Faculty of Dentistry

The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong is the premier dental school in the world and the only institution in Hong Kong that provides undergraduate and postgraduate dental degrees. The Faculty was established in 1982 and is located in the Prince Philip Dental Hospital in Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong Island.

Faculty of Education

With a unique heritage and context, the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong, is an integral part of a comprehensive, research-intensive, international English-medium university in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of Mainland China. The Faculty is a regionally and globally engaged educational hub.

Faculty of Engineering

As one of the University’s founding faculties, the mission of Faculty of Engineering is to innovate through world-class education and cutting-edge research; to conduct interdisciplinary and international collaboration to overcome regional and global challenges, and to create impact on knowledge-based economy through technology development and entrepreneurship.

Faculty of Law

Established in 1969 as the first law school in the city, HKU Law is aspired to be a world-class law school firmly committed to upholding the Rule of Law, providing legal education of the highest quality, advancing the frontier of knowledge through first rate legal research, and nurturing leaders for our community.

Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty aspires to be a global leader in teaching and learning, research and discovery, clinical service and knowledge exchange in the professional domains of medicine, nursing, public health, pharmacy, Chinese medicine and in the biomedical and social sciences that underpin these professions. At the same time, we aim to nurture outstanding students who would go on to serve the people locally, nationally and around the world, thus leading to sustainable social development through better health.

Faculty of Science

From our foundation forged in 1939, the Faculty of Science was the first of its kind in the territory and has grown by leaps and bounds over the decades – it now comprises six departments and school: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics & Actuarial Science, and is currently home to over 3,800 students and 150 academic staff. We have over 27,000 alumni from over 50 countries, thriving in versatile professions and all walks of life.

Faculty of Social Sciences

The Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong seeks to make a positive social contribution through a global presence, regional significance and engagement with the rest of China. The Faculty delivers impact through internationalization, innovation and interdisciplinarity. It attracts and nurtures global scholars through excellence in research, teaching and learning and knowledge exchange. The Faculty aims to produce citizens with a global perspective who are critical thinkers, socially aware, ready to embrace diversity, and seek to make an impact on society.
